There was a minor upset when second-best Santos (13-10) lost to fourth ranked Plateros (14-10) in San Luis Potosi 86-92 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Plateros outrebounded Santos 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international center Joshua Ibarra (211-1995, college: HCU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (196-1987, college: Ole Miss) supported him with 22 points. Even 27 points by American-Dominican guard Adonys Henriquez (201-1994, college: St.Louis, agency: BMS Sport Agency) did not help to save the game for Santos. Panamanian-Chilean point guard Eugenio Luzcando (190-1995, college: Idaho St.) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Plateros and five Santos players scored in double figures. Santos' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Plateros moved-up to second place. Loser Santos dropped to the third position with ten games lost. Plateros will meet at home Correcaminos (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Santos will play against Dorados (#5) in Chihuahua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
