LSB top team - Caribbean Coast (16-4) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Rivas (2-17) 112-88. Caribbean Coast forced 25 Rivas turnovers and outrebounded them 38-23 including 22 on the offensive glass. Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!), 9 assists and 4 steals. Puerto Rican power forward Owens Perez (206-1992) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jason Cortez (-1999) answered with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Felix Ramos (-2003) added 20 points in the effort for Rivas. Four Rivas players scored in double figures. Caribbean Coast have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-4 record, which they share with Brumas. Rivas lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Tigres. Caribbean Coast's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Managua Leones.
