Aguada edged Penarol in Montevideo 77-76. Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 26 points and 4 assists. Naturalized Italian guard Jayson Granger (191-1989) produced 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and forward Emiliano Serres (204-1997, agency: Pro Sports) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Penarol will play next round against strong Hebraica trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena of Hebraica. Aguada will try to continue on its current victory against Defensor. It will be extra interesting game as Defensor is their local rival from Montevideo.
