Rather expected game when 10th rankedL.Borges (2-6) were smashed by eighth ranked Bigua (4-4) in Montevideo 106-80 on Friday. Bigua outrebounded L.Borges 42-22 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bigua looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by L.Borges ' players. The winners were led by American forward Josh Cunningham (203-1996, college: Dayton) who scored that evening 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Isaac Hamilton (196-1994, college: UCLA) supported him with 20 points and 5 assists. Four Bigua players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by American power forward Justin Moss (203-1993, college: Buffalo) did not help to save the game for L.Borges . Guard Thomas Araujo (192-2004) added 19 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bigua moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Malvin. Loser L.Borges dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Hebraica and Goes.
