Regular Season Round 14: Amancay - Salta Basket 76-83

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Salta Basket (2-7) beat higher ranked Amancay (6-4) in La Rioja 83-76 on Sunday. Diego Peralta (195-1994) notched 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Facundo Arias Binda (192-1993) supported him with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Salta Basket's coach Ricardo De Cecco used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by guard Emiliano Correa (188-1991) did not help to save the game for Amancay. Wilfredo Alvarez added 12 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Salta Basket moved-up to thirteenth place. Newly promoted Amancay dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Salta Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Amancay will play against Dep Norte (#8) in Armstrong and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
