There was no surprise in Buenos Aires where 18th rankedLa Union (4-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Boca (11-7) 89-83 . However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. La Union was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). The former international Leonardo Mainoldi (205-1985) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Boca players scored in double figures. American guard Antwon Lillard (198-1995, college: BGSU) replied with 26 points and 4 steals and American-Haitian forward Wes Alcegaire (198-1994, college: BGSU) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for La Union. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boca have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with San Lorenzo. La Union at the other side keeps the eighteenth position with 12 games lost.
