There was a small surprise when eleventh rankedAmancay (7-9) defeated 8th ranked Rivadavia (9-8) in La Rioja 71-60 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for guard Emiliano Correa (188-1991) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Juan Cognigni (192-1990) accounted for 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Amancay players scored in double figures. Center Laureano Zalio (207-1995, agency: BIG) came up with 6 points and 11 rebounds and Federico Pedano (194-2000) added 12 points respectively for Rivadavia in the defeat. Rivadavia's coach Sebastian Torre rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Amancay moved-up to tenth place. Loser Rivadavia dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Provincial.
