No shocking result in a game when second rankedQuetzales (5-1) crushed bottom-ranked Toritas (0-6) in Celaya 92-56 on Saturday. Quetzales made 32-of-41 free shots (78.0 percent) during the game, while Toritas only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Toritas 53-33 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-1987) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and center Monica Farrera (185-1997) accounted for 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Quetzales players scored in double figures. Cuban Melissa Oleaga (-1998) came up with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Luz Martinez added 12 points respectively for Toritas in the defeat. Toritas' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Quetzales . They maintain second place with 5-1 record behind leader Libelulas, which they share with Las Avispas and Mineras. Toritas lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Blueskas and Cinnamon.
