Regular Season Round 15: Quetzales - Toritas 72-81

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Quetzales (8-6) against fourth ranked Toritas (3-13) on Sunday night. Host Quetzales were defeated by Toritas in a tough game in Ciudad de Mexico 72-81. It was a good game for Susana Gonzalez who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Brenda Salazar contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-1987) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Melissa Gutierrez added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Quetzales. Five Toritas and four Quetzales players scored in double figures. Toritas maintains fourth place with 3-13 record. Quetzales at the other side keep the third position with six games lost. Toritas will play against league's leader Mieleras in Guanajuato in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quetzales' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ciudad de Mexico Huskys.
