Regular Season Round 19: Sand Dollar - Giants 67-101

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nassau:Giants (#1) and Sand Dollar (#2). Sand Dollar was crushed at home by 34 points 67-101 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Giants dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Sand Dollar 's 30. Giants had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Sand Dollar 's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Giants made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international guard Jackson Jacob (186, college: NAIT) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 7 assists. The former international Michael Bain (185-1985) helped adding 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Giants' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Van Hutchinson (193) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and Rus-Shon Strachan scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sand Dollar players scored in double figures. Giants (14-0) have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 14 victories in a row. Sand Dollar at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost.
