The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss ofDefenders (3-1) in Belize City on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by Hurricanes (5-0) 119-72 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Defenders. Hurricanes dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Defenders ' 26. They outrebounded Defenders 54-25 including a 38-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Sidibe Bourama who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. American swingman Victor Evans (193, college: Vanguard) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. American swingman Nigel Jones (201-1990, college: Talladega) produced 19 points and the other American import point guard Lorenzo Dillard (189-1995, college: Dillard) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hurricanes have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record. Defenders at the other side keep the second position with one game lost.
