There was a minor upset when 10th rankedFortaleza (15-14) lost to twelfth ranked Pinheiros (13-15) in Sao Paulo 61-72 on Saturday. Pinheiros dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Fortaleza 's 24. Pinheiros looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Serbian-Portuguese center Sasa Borovnjak (206-1989, college: Penn St., agency: 011 Sports) notched 23 points to lead the effort and Italian-Argentinian forward Federico Aguerre (203-1988) supported him with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Pinheiros' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points and 6 assists by American swingman Dexter McClanahan (193-1997, college: Nicholls St.) did not help to save the game for Cearense . Douglas Nunes (210-1987) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Pinheiros maintains twelfth position with 13-15 record. Loser Fortaleza keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost.
