CIBACOPA top team -Rayos de Hermosillo (9-1) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat ninth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (1-9) 100-89 . Hermosillo made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Hermosillo outrebounded Culiacan 44-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Hermosillo looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 7 assists. Forward Derek Culver (208-1998, college: WVU) helped adding 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Rayos de Hermosillo's coach Walter McCarty used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Mascio McCadney (190-1998, college: MSU-Northern) responded with 22 points and swingman Carson Newsome (199-1998, college: Graceland) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. Culiacan lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Frayles.
