Twelfth-rankedL.Borges (3-24) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Bigua (13-14) in Montevideo on Friday. The visitors managed to secure only two-point victory 111-109 . However their fans expected much easier game. Bigua forced 20 L.Borges turnovers and outrebounded them 58-27 including a 25-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bigua looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for American forward Josh Cunningham (203-1996, college: Dayton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. The other American import guard Isaac Hamilton (196-1994, college: UCLA) contributed with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Bigua's coach Diego Cal used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Federico Ambrosoni (183-1999) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 assists and Argentinian Nahuel Amichetti (202-1998) added 29 points in the effort for L.Borges. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bigua maintains sixth position with 13-14 record. L.Borges lost ninth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games.
