Regular Season Round 10: Defenders - Sparks 79-41

Date: April 23, 2024
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Defenders (7-5) crushed at home bottom-ranked Sparks (3-9) 79-41 on Tuesday. Defenders held Sparks to an opponent 15.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.9 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Sparks 74-44 including a 54-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Defenders looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Sparks' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Defenders made 11 blocks. Johndell Minus notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international center Roberta Quant (-1976) supported her with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Even 13 points by Vincinique Dames did not help to save the game for Sparks. Jada Francis added 12 points for lost side. Defenders moved-up to second place. Loser Sparks stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. They share it with Eagles.
