Not a big story in a game in Cartagena where 5th ranked Corsarios (6-11) were defeated by first ranked Storm (15-3) 78-65 on Friday. The best player for the winners was American Dominique Morrison (198-1989, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Michael Jackson (192-1987) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Storm players scored in double figures. Storm's coach Jaime Ortiz used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian point guard Nicolas Paletta (179-1987) produced 6 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Hanner Mosquera-Perea (205-1993, college: ETSU) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Storm have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Carrib.Storm maintains first place with 15-3 record. Loser Corsarios keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Carrib.Storm will meet at home Bucaros (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Corsarios will play against Titanes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
