No shocking result in a game when third rankedHalcones (9-5) beat 7th ranked Correcaminos (5-9) in Ciudad Victoria 72-63 on Friday. Halcones made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Correcaminos turnovers. The winners were led by American-Hungarian guard Yvonne Turner (179-1987, college: Nebraska) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds and Croatian forward Andrijana Cvitkovic (190-1994, college: Dayton) supported her with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Halcones players scored in double figures. Even 18 points by American guard Brittany Byrd (176-1997, college: UIC) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos . Her fellow American import guard Ciani Cryor (165-1997, college: Texas Southern) added 17 points and 5 steals for the hosts. Halcones maintains third position with 9-5 record having just three points less than leader Adelitas. Loser Correcaminos keep the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Santas.
