Important game to mention about took place in Corinto. Seventh rankedTigres (2-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging bottom-ranked Leones (0-4) 80-77 on Thursday evening. Tigres dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Leones ' 36. Tigres forced 22 Leones turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jose Ortiz (190-1990, college: DelVal) who helped to win the game recording 26 points. Puerto Rican guard Ezequiel Colon (187-1999, college: Lehman) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Tigres players scored in double figures. American swingman Deondre Wade (194, college: Seminole St.) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Riberto Leyva (189-1999, college: ASA Miami) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Leones. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Tigres moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Brumas and UNI Basket. Leones at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Indigenas.
