Regular Season Round 7: Santos - Halc.Xalapa 84-97

Halcones UV Xalapa has finally registered their first victory this season after one consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Santos (3-2) on the road game in San Luis Potosi 97-84 . Halc.Xalapa players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian power forward Nikola Jovanovic (211-1994, college: USC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Senegalese-American guard Clevin Hannah (179-1987, college: Wichita St.) accounted for 13 points and 9 assists for the winning side. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Kevin Allen (211-1994, college: Emporia St., agency: BIG) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Lamonte Bearden (191-1995, college: WKU) added 21 points respectively for Santos in the defeat. Five Halc.Xalapa and four Santos players scored in double figures. Halcones UV Xalapa (1-1) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. Santos at the other side keep the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Panteras and El Calor.
