Everything went according to plan when second rankedAstros (9-2) defeated 13th ranked Correcaminos (3-9) in Ciudad Victoria 92-80 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jared Rodriguez (203-1999, college: Idaho St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-1992, college: Sacramento St.) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Astros' coach Leandro Garcia used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Kameron Hankerson (196-1998, college: Green Bay) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Lydell Elmore (206-1998, college: Camp-Harrodsburg) added 19 points respectively for Correcaminos in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Astros maintains second place with 9-2 record behind leader Fuerza Regia. Loser Correcaminos keep the thirteenth position with nine games lost.
