Regular Season Round 8: Felix Perez - Colonias 61-67

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Asuncion:Colonias (#3) and Felix Perez (#4). Felix Perez was defeated at home 61-67 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Felix Perez. They outrebounded Felix Perez 55-42 including a 45-34 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Dwayne Russell (203-1998, college: St.Thomas, FL) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and international center Juan Poisson (198-1998) who added 10 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Colonias players scored in double figures. The former international center Alen Juarez (201-2000) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Ricardo Sarubbi (-1998) scored 7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Colonias (5-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Olimpia K. Felix Perez at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Libertad.
