There was an upset when higher rankedGoes (15-11) lost to thirteenth ranked Verdirrojo (10-15) in Montevideo 64-82 on Friday. Verdirrojo outrebounded Goes 45-28 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Randy Rickards (201-2000, college: WILMU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Nicolas Koster (181-1997) supported him with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Verdirrojo's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Justin Strings (201-1996, college: Sacramento St.) did not help to save the game for Goes . His fellow American import Zoran Talley (198-1994, college: Iowa St.) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Verdirrojo have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Goes keep the fourth position with 11 games lost.
