Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo:Malvin (#1) and Yale (#2). Malvin (8-1) won against visiting Yale (7-2) 69-56 . It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Yale. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Malvin made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Yale only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Yale 49-27 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Argentinian forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side Argentinian Agustina Bazan (174-2003) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Argentinian point guard Julieta Sienra (161-2003) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Malvin have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-1 record. Yale at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Aguada.
