Regular Season Round 7: Leonas - Jaguares 38-83

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Managua:Jaguares (#2) and Leonas (#4). Leonas were crushed at home by 45 points 38-83 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Jaguares dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Leonas ' 30. Jaguares forced 34 Leonas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international guard Reyna Lopez (-2002) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Andrea Suarez (-2004) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Jaguares players scored in double figures. Guard Jennifer Espinoza (-2005) produced 10 points and 9 rebounds and center Maria Gonzalez (187-2006) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Leonas' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Jaguares (8-2) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place having just three points less than leader Tipitapa. Leonas at the other side keep the fourth position with eight games lost.
