Very expected game when 15th rankedAbejas (6-22) lost to ninth ranked Halcones Rojos (14-14) in Veracruz 86-96 on Thursday. American players dominated the game. Guard Deshawndre Washington (201, college: NM State) notched 25 points, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and forward Kenneth Horton (201-1989, college: CCSU, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Five Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 7 rebounds by swingman Will Yoakum (196-1998, college: Nova SE) did not help to save the game for Abejas . Guard Mustapha Heron (196-1997, college: St.John's) added 20 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Halcones Rojos have an impressive five-game winning streak. Halc.Rojos maintains ninth position with 14-14 record. Abejas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom.
