Regular Season Round 6: Amancay - Salta Basket 74-49

Bottom-rankedSalta Basket (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 74-49 loss to second ranked Amancay (3-1) in La Rioja. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Amancay outrebounded Salta Basket 42-24 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Agustin Vergara (196-2001) who led his team to a victory with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Center Juan Bollo (203-1992) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Amancay players scored in double figures. Nasif Farah replied with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Facundo Fernandez added 11 points in the effort for Salta Basket. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Amancay maintains second position with 3-1 record behind leader Centenario N., which they share with GELP and Comunicaciones. Salta Basket at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Rocamora and Provincial.
