Urunday used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Montevideo 81-71 on Thursday night. It was an exceptional evening for U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (201-1990, college: Murray St., agency: 011 Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds. American guard Robert Whitfield (190-1997, college: UMKC) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Urunday players scored in double figures. American center Franklin Hassell (205-1988, college: ODU) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) added 21 points (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) respectively for Aguada in the defeat.
