Regular Season Round 4: Correcaminos - Toros 66-81

An interesting game forToros (7-1) which played road game in Colon against 3rd ranked Correcaminos (5-3). First ranked Toros had an easy win 81-66 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Correcaminos. Strangely Correcaminos outrebounded Toros 40-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by swingman Amilcar Sanchez (191-2001) who scored that evening 26 points and point guard Guillermo Shuffler (181-2003) supported him with 20 points and 7 assists. Four Toros players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 7 rebounds by Gil Atencio (202-1996, college: St.Clair) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos . Forward Michael Hicks (196-1976, college: TAMUCC) added 16 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toros have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Loser Correcaminos keep the third place with three games lost.
