Jamell Harris claims Belizean NEBL Interperformances weekly honour- January 28, 2020
The 28-year old forward had a double-double of 17 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat San Pedro T. (#4, 1-1) 85-77. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Smart Belize H. is placed at 2nd position in Belizean NEBL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Smart Belize H. won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Harris just recently signed at Smart Belize H. and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. Eastern Michigan University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Harris is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 12.0rpg), assists (3rd best: 7.0apg) and averages solid 4.0bpg and 3.0spg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 29-year old American center Nigel Jones (201-C-90) of Belize City D.. Jones impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Belize City D. to another comfortable win outscoring Dream Ballers (0-1) 84-55. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Jones is well-known by Belize City D. fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.0ppg (#1). He also registered 12.0 boards per game. Talladega College alumni Jones played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The third best performed player last round was American Kris Frazier (201-PG) of Verdes (#3). Frazier scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Verdes, leading his team to a 82-74 win against Orange Walk RR (#8, 0-1). Verdes has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Frazier also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Frazier as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader. Other top performing players last week: 4.
