Kris Frazier claims Belizean BEBL weekly honour- February 3, 2023
The playmaker had a double-double of 22 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Panthers (#7, 0-1) with 21-point margin 90-69. Hurricanes maintains the 2nd position in Belizean BEBL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Hurricanes won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Frazier just recently signed at Hurricanes and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. Peru State College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Frazier is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 13.0rpg), assists (5th best: 3.0apg) and averages solid 66.7% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Richard Smith III (206-F-1992) of Western Ballaz. Smith III impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 21 rebounds. Of course he led Western Ballaz to another comfortable win outscoring Running Rebels (0-1) 90-67. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Smith III is one of the most experienced players at Western Ballaz and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#7). He also registered 21.0 boards per game. The third best performed player last round was another Western Ballaz's star - American Mark Gordon (196-F). Gordon scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was another key player of Western Ballaz, helping his team with a 90-67 easy win against Running Rebels (#8, 0-1). Western Ballaz has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Gordon also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Gordon as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be another team's leader. Other top performing players last week: 4. Nigel Jones (201-G/F-1990) of Defenders - 29 points and 10 rebounds 5. Darnell Oden (F) of Panthers - 21 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists 6. Devin Daly (195-G-1994) of Defenders - 20 points and 8 rebounds 7. Glency Lopez (180-G-1997) of Hurricanes - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists 8. Alex Carcamo (203-F-1979) of Hurricanes - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists 9. D'Von Campbell (185-G-1992) of Dream Ballers - 26 points and 2 rebounds 10. Kyron Molina (SG) of Western Ballaz - 18 points and 5 rebounds The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
