Belizean BEBL round 3 best performance: Jeremiah Toney (by Hoops Agents)- February 27, 2023
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Western Ballaz (2-2) 98-90. Red Taigaz is placed at 4th position in Belizean BEBL. Red Taigaz is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Toney had a remarkable 61.1% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Red Taigaz, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of Southwest star has very solid stats this year. Toney is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.5ppg) and averages impressive 57.4% FGP. The second best player in last round's games was American Mark Gordon (196-F/G) of Western Ballaz. Gordon had a very good evening with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Western Ballaz lost that game 90-98 to Red Taigaz (2-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Gordon is one of the most experienced players at Western Ballaz and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.8ppg (#3). He also registered 9.0 boards per game. Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Tyrone Hall (190-SG-1990) of Running Rebels (#6). Hall scored 27 points and passed four assists. He was a key player of Running Rebels, leading his team to a 91-83 win against Tiger Sharks (#7, 1-3). The chances of Running Rebels ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Hall could help Running Rebels to bring them higher in the standings. Hall has a very solid season. In 5 games in Belize he scored 15.2ppg. Tyrone Hall has also Belizean passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player. Other top performing players last week: 4.
