BEBL Round 6: Dream Ballers lose the game and top position

The Regular Season in BEBL just ended. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

There was a change at the BEBL leadership position after last games. Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Dream Ballers (6-3). They were defeated by third ranked Running Rebels (6-3) 73-67 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Dream Ballers. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward James Stanback (198, college: Camden County) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and guard Bryan Hudson (190, college: MWSU) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Running Rebels' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Dominic Woodson (211-1995, college: Tennessee) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Running Rebels have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Dream Ballers.
The game in Punta Gorda was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Western Ballaz (4-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Panthers (1-8). Western Ballaz defeated Panthers 95-85. American swingman Mark Gordon (196, college: Keiser) notched 28 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and Richard Smith III supported him with 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Western Ballaz's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds by point guard Tavian Davis (183-1998, college: Rogers St.) did not help to save the game for Panthers. Western Ballaz moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Defenders. Panthers lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost.
Fourth ranked Defenders (4-4) beat at home 7th ranked Red Taigaz (3-5) by 13 points 84-71, which is the biggest margin this round on Friday night. The best player for the winners was Nigel Jones who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Ben Page who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 4-4 record, which they share with Western Ballaz. Red Taigaz lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost.



Defenders - Red Taigaz 84-71

Fourth ranked Defenders (4-4) beat at home 7th ranked Red Taigaz (3-5) by 13 points 84-71, which is the biggest margin this round on Friday night. The best player for the winners was American swingman Nigel Jones (201-1990, college: Talladega) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Farron Louriano (198-1989) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Defenders players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ben Page (198, college: Concordia, TX) who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import Jeremiah Toney (196-1998, college: Southwest, agency: One Motive Sports) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 4-4 record, which they share with Western Ballaz. Red Taigaz lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost.
