Guzman's 35-point game gives him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old American forward Jonathan Guzman (201-F-1998) had a great game in the last round for Griga Dream Ballers and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had the game-high 35 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Dream Ballers in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Defenders (#3, 4-3) 94-91. Dream Ballers is placed at 5th position in Belizean league. Dream Ballers is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-4 record. In the team's last game Guzman had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Dream Ballers, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Antelope Valley University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Guzman is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.6ppg. Second best performed player last round was Nigel Jones (201-G/F-1990) of NSC Combined Schools Tridents. He is American swingman in his first season at Defenders. In the last game Jones recorded an impressive double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Tridents was edged by slightly lower-ranked Dream Ballers (#5, 2-4) 94-91. This loss caused Tridents to drop to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 4-3 record is not bad at all. Jones is one of the most experienced players at Tridents and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.7ppg (#2). He also registered 9.3 boards per game. Former Talladega College star Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Jihad Wright (193-G-1993) of league's second-best San Pedro Tiger Sharks. Wright scored 20 points and passed 5 assists. He was a key player of Tiger Sharks, leading his team to a 81-50 easy win against the lower-ranked Trojans (#6, 2-7). Tiger Sharks needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Wright has a great season in Belize. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.4rpg (7th best). He also has 3.0spg and a FGP of 66.7%.
