Jihad Wright claims Belizean BEBL weekly honour

Experienced American Guard Jihad Wright (193-G-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best San Pedro Tiger Sharks and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 30-year old guard had the game-high 18 points adding nine rebounds for Tiger Sharks in his team's victory, helping them to beat Dream Ballers (#5, 3-5) 82-69. Tiger Sharks maintains the 2nd position in Belizean BEBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tiger Sharks will need more victories to improve their 6-3 record. In the team's last game Wright had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Tiger Sharks' top player in his first season with the team. University of North Carolina at Pembroke graduate has very impressive stats this year. Wright is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.1ppg), rebounds (5th best: 8.5rpg) and averages solid 3.0spg and 65.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young power forward Delvon Henderson (200-PF-1991) of Griga Dream Ballers. Henderson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Dream Ballers lost that game 69-82 to the higher-ranked Tiger Sharks (#2, 6-3). Dream Ballers is still second from the bottom in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Henderson is a newcomer at Dream Ballers and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.7ppg (#7). He also registered 11.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Jayden Lopez (G) of Belmopan Trojans (#6). Lopez got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds . Despite Lopez's great performance the Trojans lost 88-123 to the league's current leader Hurricanes (#1, 8-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Lopez has individually a great season in Belize. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 2.6apg (5th best).

7. Amar Ross (170-PG-2000) of Hurricanes - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Cunningham Marquise) of Hurricanes - 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Richard Laku (206-PF-1997) of Tiger Sharks - 20 points and 11 rebounds
10. Francis Arana (180-PG-1997) of Tiger Sharks - 20 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
