Arik Nicholas claims Belizean BEBL Hoops Agents weekly honour

Arik Nicholas (196-F) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Western Ballaz and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The forward had the game-high 25 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Western Ballaz in his team's victory, helping them to beat Kings (#8, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 80-70. Western Ballaz is placed at 2nd position in Belizean BEBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Western Ballaz will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Nicholas had a remarkable 53.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Western Ballaz, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Arizona Christian University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Nicholas is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.3ppg) and averages solid 59.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was guard Jason Vasquez (G) of Corozal Cerros Suns. Vasquez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Suns to edge Thunderbolts (2-2) by 2 points 67-65. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Vasquez is one of the most experienced players at Suns and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Matthew Young (C ) of Belize City Thunderbolts (#3). Young scored 15 points and grabbed 27 rebounds (!!!). Despite Young's great performance the Thunderbolts lost 65-67 to Suns (#5, 1-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Young has a great season in Belize. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.5rpg (2nd best).

7. Gregory Rudon (181-G -1984) of Suns - 22 points and 7 rebounds
8. Brandon Flowers (196-F -1995) of Kings - 18 points and 8 rebounds
9. Glency Lopez (180-G -1997) of Thunderbolts - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Michael Caseras (SF ) of Thunderbolts - 9 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
