Clifton's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

26-year old American power forward Jamaal Clifton (198-F/C-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Corozal Cerros Suns and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, while his team was edged out by Panthers (#2, 2-1) 83-79. Suns maintains the 6th position in Belizean league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. Clifton just recently signed at Suns and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Langston University, OK graduate has very impressive stats this year. Clifton is in league's top in points (7th best: 19.5ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 14.5rpg), assists (6th best: 3.5apg) and averages solid 55.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Marquis Cunningham (208-F-1995) of league's second-best Punta Gorda Panthers. He is American forward in his first season at Panthers. In the last game Cunningham recorded an impressive double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Panthers to another comfortable win 84-71 over Suns (1-3) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Cunningham is one of the most experienced players at Panthers and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Francis Arana (180-PG-1997) of league's leader San Pedro Tiger Sharks. Arana scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of Tiger Sharks, leading his team to a 77-74 win against Dream Ballers (#5, 1-2). Tiger Sharks started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Arana turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Arana has a great season in Belize. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (5th best) and assists with 3.7apg (5th best).
