Belizean BEBL round 7 best performance: Arik Nicholas (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Arik Nicholas (196-F) put on an amazing game in the last round for Western Ballaz, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The player had a double-double of 34 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Thunderbolts (#3, 4-4) 87-82. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Western Ballaz maintains the 4th position in Belizean BEBL. Western Ballaz is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Nicholas had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at Western Ballaz, through which he has constantly improved. Former Arizona Christian University star has very solid stats this year. Nicholas is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.8ppg), rebounds (8th best: 8.7rpg) and averages impressive 3.0bpg and 58.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jamaal Clifton (198-F/C-1998) of Corozal Cerros Suns. Clifton had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Suns to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Panthers (#7, 2-6) 72-49. This victory allowed Suns to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 5th position in the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Suns managed to get this year. Clifton is one of the most experienced players at Suns and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.8ppg (#5). He also registered 11.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Francis Arana (180-PG-1997) of league's top team San Pedro Tiger Sharks. Arana showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Tiger Sharks, leading his team to a 76-61 easy win against the lower-ranked Panthers (#7, 2-6). Tiger Sharks have amazing season winning all 9 games without a single defeat. Arana turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Arana has a great season in Belize. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.2ppg (8th best) and assists with 4.6apg (3rd best).
