Tiger Sharks outrebounded Dream Ballers 69-45 including a 24-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Dream Ballers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Edward Hampton who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. American swingman Demetrius Thomas (203, college: Cerritos JC) contributed with 16 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Another interesting game for Running Rebels which played in Belize City against Defenders. Running Rebels had an easy win 82-65. American power forward Kenneth Perkins Jr. (210-1997, college: Philander Smith) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners and Tevaughn Dawson chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American Nigel Jones (201-1990, college: Talladega) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Running Rebels will play against Dream Ballers in Dangriga in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Defenders will play on the road against Dream Ballers in Dangriga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of Suns against Trojans on Saturday night. Visiting Suns were defeated by Trojans in a tough game in Belmopan 74-80.
