Ajang Aguek claims Belizean BEBL Hoops Agents weekly honour

American Ajang Aguek (201-G/F-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for Belize City Defenders and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 25-year old swingman had a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Tiger Sharks (#2, 4-1) 88-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Defenders is placed at 3rd position in Belizean BEBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Defenders will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. Aguek just recently signed at Defenders, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Lander University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Aguek is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 10.3rpg) and averages solid 57.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was center Jahiem Ciego (C) of EZ Investments Dream Ballers. Ciego impressed basketball fans with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Dream Ballers to another comfortable win 103-89 over slightly lower-ranked Trojans (#6, 1-5) being unquestionably team leader. Dream Ballers' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Ciego is one of the most experienced players at Dream Ballers and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Kenneth Perkins Jr. (210-F/C-1997) of top-ranked Orange Walk Running Rebels. Perkins Jr. showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Running Rebels, leading his team to a 87-76 win against Suns (#7, 0-5). Running Rebels started extremely well this year. They recorded 5 victories without losing a single game. Perkins Jr. turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Perkins Jr. has a great season in Belize. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.6ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 8.4rpg (7th best). Perkins Jr. attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

9. Conner Jackson (190-G-2000) of Tiger Sharks - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Kevon Laurie (F) of Dream Ballers - 10 points and 10 rebounds
