Jones' 25 points and 9 rebounds give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

35-year old American Nigel Jones (201-F -1990) put on an amazing game in the last round for Belize City Defenders and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
He had the game-high 25 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Defenders in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Dream Ballers (#5, 2-5) with 40-point margin 90-50. Thanks to this victory Defenders moved-up to the 4th position in Belizean league. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Defenders will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Defenders, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Talladega College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.0ppg), rebounds (9th best: 8.3rpg) and averages solid 66.7% FGP. Worth to mention Jones played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Terrence Johnson (203-F) of Corozal Cerros Suns. He is American forward in his first season at Suns. In the last game Johnson recorded an impressive 26 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Suns lost that game 82-98 to the higher-ranked Western Ballers (#3, 4-1). Suns are still at the very bottom. 6 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Johnson is one of the most experienced players at Suns and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Defenders' star - swingman Ajang Aguek (201-G/F-2000). Aguek scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Belize City Defenders, helping his team with a 90-50 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Dream Ballers (#5, 2-5). Defenders needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Aguek has a great season in Belize. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.5ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 11.3rpg (2nd best).
