Belizean BEBL round 8 best performance: Mark Gordon (by Hoops Agents)

American Swingman Mark Gordon (196-F/G) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Cayo Western Ballers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The player was the main contributor (35 points, four rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Tiger Sharks (#4, 5-2) 93-78. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Western Ballaz to take over top position in the Belizean BEBL. Western Ballers have a solid 5-1 record. In the team's last game Gordon had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Western Ballaz and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former Keiser University star has very solid stats this year. Gordon is in league's top in points (2nd best: 23.7ppg), rebounds (9th best: 8.2rpg) and averages impressive 2.5spg and 57.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Western Ballers' star - young Belizean Glency Lopez (180-PG -1997). Lopez had a very good evening with 28 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course together with Gordon he helped Cayo Western Ballers with another comfortable win 93-78 over the lower-ranked Tiger Sharks (#4, 5-2) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Western Ballaz consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 5 matches. Lopez is one of the most experienced players at Western Ballaz and similarly like Mark Gordon has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Ajang Aguek (201-G/F-2000) of league's second-best Belize City Defenders. Aguek scored 20 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Defenders, leading his team to a 71-62 win against #3 ranked Running Rebels. Defenders needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 2 lost games. Aguek has a great season in Belize. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.2ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 12.8rpg (2nd best).
