This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Tiger Sharks (6-4) to first ranked Defenders (9-2) 77-74 on Friday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American Nigel Jones (201-1990, college: Talladega) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Bobby Williams (, college: Contra Costa) contributed with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Edward Hampton answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for Tiger Sharks. Defenders have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-2 record. Defending champion Tiger Sharks keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with Western Ballers. Defenders are looking forward to face Dream Ballers (#5) in Dangriga in the next round. Tiger Sharks will play on the road against the league's second-placed Running Rebels in Belize City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Belmopan was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Dream Ballers (6-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Trojans (2-10). Dream Ballers managed to secure a 9-point victory 88-79. Forward Arik Nicholas (196, college: ACU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and Deshawn Brackett chipped in 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American guard Bryan Hudson (190, college: MWSU) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Trojans' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Dream Ballers. They maintain fifth place with 6-5 record. Trojans at the other side keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Dream Ballers will play against bottom-ranked Suns (#7) in the next round. Trojans will have a break next round.

Kenneth Perkins Jr nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Running Rebels' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kevin Jones came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for Suns in the defeat. Running Rebels maintains second place with 8-3 record behind leader Defenders. Suns lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Running Rebels will meet at home Tiger Sharks (#4) in the next round.
