CAN Oruro - Carl A-Z 87-68 Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Oruro: CAN Oruro (#3) and Carl A-Z (#3). CAN Oruro (6-6) smashed visiting Carl A-Z (6-6) by 19 points 87-68. They outrebounded Carl A-Z 51-35 including 36 on the defensive glass. CAN Oruro players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Argentinian forward Sebastian Picton (196-92) notched 29 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Fernando Cadario (184-89) supported him with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four CAN Oruro players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 9 rebounds by guard Mauricio Tola (184-92) did not help to save the game for Carl A-Z. American guard John Merchant (187-89, college: Dowling) added 13 points and 15 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Santa Cruz defeated second-ranked Rubair on the road 86-72. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Univ. Venezuelan guard Reimer Machado (185-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and the former international guard Diego Olguin (186-95) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Rubair's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams.
