Bolivian Libobasquet round 4 best performance: Mike Liabo- August 7, 2021
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, seven rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Amistad (#5, 0-5), the league's bottom-ranked team 105-93. Rubair maintains the 3rd position in Bolivian Libobasquet. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Rubair will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Liabo had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Rubair's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Tennessee at Martin star has very solid stats this year. Liabo is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.6ppg) and averages impressive 62.5% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line. Worth to mention Liabo played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. The second best player in last round's games was young American Robert Colon (187-G-99) of league's leader PICHINCHA POTOSI. Colon had a very good evening with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Pichincha to another comfortable win outscoring Amistad (#5, 0-5) 91-58. This victory allowed Pichincha to move up to 1st position in the standings. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Colon is a newcomer at Pichincha, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 6.5rpg and 4.3apg. Third on the list of top players last round was Cuban forward Freddy Marin (202-F-92) of Amistad (#5). Marin showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, six rebounds and six assists in the last round. Despite Marin's great performance Amistad lost 93-105 to slightly higher-ranked Rubair (#3, 3-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Amistad can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 5 games. Marin has individually a great season in Bolivia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.2ppg (7th best). Other top performing players last week: 4.
