Leones de Potosi and San Simon have won the 2022 openers in Libobasket. San Simon overcame La Salle 92-89 in overtime. Akil McClain (188-G-1997, college: IU Kokomo) stepped up with 31 points and Andres Trujillo (1999) netted 25.
Leones de Potosi overcame Tenis La Paz 75:56. They started with a 24-17 lead and added a 20-4 surge in the second quarter. Thomas Cooper (196-G-1992, college: Calgary) top-scored for the winners with 23 points and Wesley Hinton notched 12. Benjamin Merritt (202-F-1992, college: Urbana) replied with 23 points in a loss.
