Joaquin Gamazo
Argentinian Francisco Bonja had an amazing evening in the last round for UNITEP, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The player had a double-double of 26 points and 19 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Univ.Sucre (#9, 0-2) with 18-point margin 84-66. Thanks to this victory UNITEP moved-up to the 6th position in Bolivian Libobasquet. UNITEP is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Bonja just recently signed at UNITEP and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Francisco Bonja has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 24.0ppg) and averages impressive 1.5bpg.
The second best player in last round's games was young Argentinian Joaquin Gamazo (198-PF-1991) of La Salle. Gamazo had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 21 rebounds. Bad luck as La Salle was edged by San Simon (2-0) 92-89. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Gamazo is one of the most experienced players at La Salle and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 30.5ppg (#1). He also registered 15.0 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Argentinian forward Lucas Gallardo (199-F-2001) of Univ.Sucre (#9). Gallardo got into 30-points club by scoring 39 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . Despite Gallardo's great performance Univ.Sucre lost 66-84 to UNITEP (#6, 1-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Univ.Sucre can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. Gallardo has individually a great season in Bolivia. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.5ppg (5th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
