Argentinian Power forward Gianfranco Sinconi (204-F/C-1994) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked San Simon, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Tenis (#9, 0-3) with 26-point margin 97-71. It allowed San Simon to consolidate first place in the Bolivian Libobasquet. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but San Simon already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Sinconi had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He just recently signed at San Simon, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Gianfranco Sinconi has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 20.5ppg) and averages impressive 73.1% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was young Argentinian Joaquin Gamazo (198-PF-1991) of La Salle. Gamazo had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as La Salle lost that game 73-82 to league's leader Leones (#2, 3-0). This loss caused La Salle to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 1-2 record. Gamazo is one of the most experienced players at La Salle and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.7ppg (#1). He also registered 15.0 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Thomas Cooper (196-G-1992) of league's second-best Leones. Cooper scored 28 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of Leones, leading his team to a 82-73 win against the lower-ranked La Salle (#5, 1-2). Leones started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Cooper turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Cooper has a great season in Bolivia. The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
