Univ.Sucre - Tenis 85-67 Univ.Sucre's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Tenis (0-5) 85-67 on Saturday. They outrebounded Tenis 57-46 including 16 on the offensive glass. Univ.Sucre looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Haylen Washington (196-1994, college: Co.Georgia) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Argentinian center Sebastian Chaine (201-1986) supported him with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Washington is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Univ.Sucre players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 25 points and 18 rebounds by American center Ronald Farmer-Blanchard (208-1991, college: WAU) did not help to save the game for Tenis. Martin Rios added 17 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Univ.Sucre (1-3) left bottom position moving up to seventh place. It was Tenis' fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Univ.Sucre will meet higher ranked Pichincha (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Ronald Arze (175-1993) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Raul Salvatierra (200-1991) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and Argentinian guard Erbel De Pietro (185-1988) scored 18 points. Four Atomico players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leones have an impressive five-game winning streak. La Salle outrebounded Saracho 46-34 including 31 on the defensive glass. Argentinian Joaquin Gamazo (198-1991) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and Martin Ochoa supported him with 14 points and 5 assists. Even 28 points and 8 rebounds by Argentinian power forward Nicolas Gimenez (203-1994) did not help to save the game for Saracho. Argentinian forward Facundo Sanz (197-1996, agency: BIG) added 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Saracho players scored in double figures. La Salle moved-up to fourth place. Loser Saracho dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Atomico. La Salle will meet bottom-ranked Tenis (#9) in the next round where they are favorite.
