Bolivian Libobasquet round 17 best performance: Matias Martinez- August 5, 2022
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Saracho (#5, 9-6) 90-75. Atomico is placed at 4th position in Bolivian Libobasquet. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Atomico will need more victories to improve their 9-5 record. In the team's last game Martinez had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Atomico's top player in his first season with the team. Matias Martinez averages just after two games 19.0ppg, 10.0rpg and 6.0apg. The second best player in last round's games was young Argentinian Facundo Sanz (197-F-1996, agency: BIG) of Saracho. Sanz had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 21 rebounds. Bad luck as Saracho lost that game 75-90 to slightly higher-ranked Atomico (#4, 9-5). This loss caused Saracho to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Sanz is a newcomer at Saracho, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.6ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 13.5rpg and 4.8apg. Third on the list of top players last round was Argentinian guard Eduardo Gamboa (189-SG-1984) of La Salle (#6). Gamboa got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and four assists. Despite Gamboa's great performance La Salle lost 90-93 to the higher-ranked Pichincha (#1, 14-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing La Salle needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 7 victories and 7 lost games. Gamboa has a very solid season. In 9 games in Bolivia he scored 16.0ppg.
