The biggest surprise took place in Oruro where host Carl A-Z (7-6) crushed league's leader Pichincha (8-4) 88-66 on Saturday evening. Carl A-Z made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Argentinian center Diego Romero (206-1982, college: FSU) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 23 rebounds and 9 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Guard Mauricio Tola (184-1992) chipped in 21 points and 10 rebounds. Carl A-Z's coach Marcelo Mendieta felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Rene Calvo (193-1993) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds. Carl A-Z moved-up to fourth place. Defending champion Pichincha dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with San Simon. They were replaced at the leadership position by Atletico Nacional.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Atletico Nacional as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Atletico Nacional smashed 10th ranked La Paz in Potosi 103-79. It was a good game for Cuban-\n guard Adriano Barreras (186-1989) who led his team to a victory with 31 points. DMonta Harris contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Atletico Nacional's coach Enrique Lancelotti felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international guard Irin Stark (185-1989, college: STAC) answered with 31 points for La Paz. Atletico Nacional (9-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. La Paz lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with ten games lost.
Top ranked Pichincha (8-4) recorded its fourth loss at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Calero (6-6) 72-61. It was a great evening for Felipe De Paula who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 27 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Rene Calvo with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Calero moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Univ.Sucre. Defending champion Pichincha dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with San Simon.

Other games of round 15 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
CAN Oruro was defeated by Calero in Potosi 68-58. CAN Oruro was smashed by Atletico Nacional at home 59-83. Carl A-Z lost to San Simon on the opponent's court 78-88. CAN Oruro unfortunately lost to Carl A-Z in a home game 64-67. San Simon rolled over Saracho on the road 103-84. Leones defeated Univ.Sucre on its own court 84-72. Leones smashed La Paz in Potosi 115-84.




Carl A-Z - Pichincha 88-66

There was no surprise in Potosi where 8th ranked CAN Oruro (5-8) was defeated by sixth ranked Calero (6-6) 68-58 on Saturday. Calero outrebounded CAN Oruro 47-36 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Argentinian power forward Juan Cruz Oberto (200-1997) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Agustin Carreon (190-2000) helped adding 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Albert Flores (191-1991) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and Argentinian forward Juan Martin Bello (200-1999) scored 20 points. Four CAN Oruro players scored in double figures. Calero moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Univ.Sucre. CAN Oruro lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost.

It was a great evening for the former international forward Cristhian Camargo (194-1992) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard DMonta Harris (196-1997, college: Midwestern St.) helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Atletico Nacional players scored in double figures. San Simon looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Carl A-Z's players. It was a great evening for Argentinian Rolando Vallejos (195-2000) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Pedro Gutierrez (182-1996) helped adding 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five San Simon players scored in double figures.
